National Udhiya

  • The annual MAS Service Corps (MSC) Udhiya Meat Drive is geared toward helping Muslims in making their Eid donation or “Udhiya/Qurbani” to the needy of our community, regardless of their faith.

Beef cattle, lamb, and goat will be slaughtered on December 20 & 21, 2007 according to Islamic tradition, and then the meat will be processed at a meat packaging plant.

The meat will then be wrapped and frozen, and is scheduled to be received by participating MAS chapters and Islamic centers January 10th and 11th.

It will, thereafter, be immediately distributed to the established food banks and other designated locations nationwide for deserving Americans of all creeds.

The cost for a single cow is estimated at approximately $1,050, which is then broken down into seven shares of $150 each, and $150 for the lamb or the goat. Donors may purchase the entire animal or designate one or more shares for distribution.
