Sharing the joy of ‘Eid
- Sharing the joy of ‘Eid
The purpose of the ‘Eid Gift Giving Activity is to share our joy of ‘Eid with children who are hospitalized. Not only will MAS chapters and community members gain a sense of Islamic responsibility, but the activity will provide valuable experience to MAS volunteers in organizing such events.
Visiting the sick, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, is mentioned many times in Qur’an and Hadith, as an example:
“The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him) said, ‘Feed the hungry, visit the sick and free the captives’.” Reported by Abu Moosa Ash’ari (RA) (al-Bukhâri)

On the last day of Ramadan, your MAS chapter can present gifts to child patients at a selected hospital. The gifts should be decoratively wrapped in a gift bag, and be accompanied by an ‘Eid card from your MAS chapter, as well as a get-well card from local Islamic school students. In addition, goody bags can be made available in the lobby for children who are visiting patients in the hospital.
